Of course, needed to install OEM drivers for my Nvidia-based video card, nice card, PCI slot, S-video out, and I wanted the NView Control Panels back, etc. I tried putting the new card in again, taking the old one out, and guess what, I just get the black screen again, can't see what's going on.

Either the user or the hardware vendor must solve them, Might it have been a clue as to why the black screen happened on the reboot? As a recap, here's the deal: The problem is that with my system I am running MCE 2005 and the live TV feed will go dark (black screen) after use for a couple of hours with the sound continuing. Once is does happen, the only cure is a reboot, and then its good to go again for whatever period of time it chooses.

Odd Video Issue
Of course this caused a couple of the CONFIG\..files to disappear. According to the steps this was only a precaution and the files were not used later. A the end the computer tries to reboot but I only see the XP Splash then the process hangs on a black screen with a white arrow cursor that can be moved.
