If you happen to have left the CD in the PC, then BIOS will prompt as to which boot device you want to use: of course booting off CD is NOT going to achieve the completion of the XP upgrade. Don't stuff up BIOS just read the tips and prompts on the screen. So restart the PC, without a CD and you should be prompted
